LO2: Photoshoot Plans
Front Cover Photos
The model for my main cover image will be Matt Lewin, main singer of The Midnight Train, who will be posed to hold their jacket over their shoulder which will create connotations of carelessness in the colloquial body language of holding formal clothing in a casual manner with their costume loose to further careless connotations that are conventional of rock. The costume uses a white shirt, pink tie and green jacket that each fit the house style colours; the effect of this is the denotations of business wear which is being slung over the model's shoulder and worn loosely to challenge the manner these items of clothing are worn to fit the rebellious conventions of rock and appeal to the younger demographic which are likely students which dress the same for school. Furthermore, the pink tie has feminine connotations which challenges male stereotypes and allows for further representation of feminine male readers that can create an ideal self from this aspect of the model's costume. The location will be Kimberworth Park in a low-key lighting environment which will be furthered by a medium close up, low angle to signify dominance in a low-key area which furthers conventions of rock with a careless attitude, dominant despite the dangerous connotations of darker lighting. This will be in a shallow depth of field to allow the artist to stand out from the low-key background, especially with the vibrant/high-key coloured costume they're wearing. I will need a camera with an SD card and no props will be required.
The model will be Richard Grayson, bass guitarist, who will be using his guitar as a prop to lean on which will create connotations the motif of carelessness that is conventional of rock. He will be wearing black jeans, a black waistcoat and a red shirt to fit the house style colours present on the main cover image; this costume will also fit conventions of the rock genre and will therefore, appeal further to the target audience and to create an ideal self in relatable clothing. The location will also be Kimberworth Park which will include low-key lighting due to the night time of day in which the casual costume and pose will juxtapose the oppressive dark. Furthermore, the depth of field will be deep so that the background with the amp will be easily seen to further rock denotations. This will be in conjunction with a medium full shot to see the guitarist (almost) fully so the reader can create an easier ideal self in seeing more of the player; this will be in a slight low angle to further dominant connotations. I will need a camera with an SD card.

My model for this photo will be Matt Lewin who will require no props as they sit posed in high-key lighting at Kimberworth park within a shallow depth of field to allow the member to stand out from the background in a low angle which in culmination with the nonchalant pose connotes the dominant carelessness of rock. The shot type will be a full-shot to denote the full extent of the model's pose to further ideal self in representing a cool, dominant male musician. The costume will be the same as the main cover image to maintain consistency with the white shirt, pink tie, green jacket and brown trousers which business connotations can juxtapose the sneakers (vans) which the model will wear to signify the rebellious conventions of rock.
My model will be Richard Greyson who will keep the same costume and guitar used from the previous photo to remain consistent in representations throughout the magazine in low-key lighting with neon lights (the same as the house style colours/pinks, purples, blues). Richard will be posed with his back toward the camera to further rebellious connotations which appeal to the younger (also rebellious) target audience. The location will be Kimberworth park where I will require a camera and SD card to take photos in a low angle, shallow depth of field, medium full shot that highlights the musician and furthers dominant male connotations.
